I stopped by Lois Craig Elementary School to see it and visit one of my coworkers that is still there. It was so fun to see where I use to work. The neighborhood has changed in some ways and hasn't changed in others.
When I entered Jennifer's classroom she said there was someone there who she wanted me to see. I said, "Oh really? Who?" Just then from around the corner I hear, "I know that sweet voice anywhere." This guy popped out from around the corner:

Mr. Brugger!!
John and I were portable friends my 2nd and 3rd year teaching. He always gave me a hard time about my math scores. My math scores on the standardized tests according to him were always higher than his. I never bothered to check my standardized test scores. But, he would spent the entire year pumping his class up outside his classroom and "smack" talking me outside mine. "Who's gonna have the best math scores this year? Bruggers class." He make little comments in grade level meetings, "This is the year Brugger's math scores will be higher than Burr's" LoL! He teased that he finally beat my scores. Ha ha!!
Then, he said, "Hey! I have something of yours!" I haven't seen or talked to Mr. Brugger since 2005. Yet, for 9 years he has held on to a box of books I had totally forgotten about in the case I came back! Seriously, you know you are cherished by someone when they hold onto your stuff for 9 years! It was so fun to talk to him for a few moments and catch up!!He hasn't aged a bit!!!
It was also so much fun to see this masterpiece still hanging in the hallway! In 2003 - 2004 the 5th grade got the brilliant idea in creating a college culture at the Elementary School to paint a mural of the United States and add pendants for where the teacher earned their degree from . . . I had really thought it would be gone 10 year later. However, there is hung proudly still next to the front office. The pendants are the original teachers from the school when we had painted the entire mural, and created the pendants. The school added round circles to the map to represent teachers that were at the school in 2011 - 2012. It feels good to know that something you helped to contribute to the school is still there. It was just an amazing time getting to see where I taught. I have a very special place in my heart for Lois Craig! I made and have so many good friends because of my years there.
