Blessed

14 years ago I was blessed to be found worthy to serve my Father in Heaven on a mission.  I ached to go to share with my brothers and sisters on earth the blessing and happiness the Gospel had brought to my life, and to do something to show my Father in Heaven how grateful I was for the Gospel. I wanted to give back to my Father in Heaven for all He had done for me. As a young and grateful 21 year old, I had no idea that instead, I would become more indebted to my Father in Heaven because he allowed me to serve Him.

I entered the MTC on February 2, 2000 and was eager to serve my Father in Heaven. I wanted to be obedient, and I wanted to know that I was not wasting His time. I allowed fear of the unknown and the commitment create doubts my faith a few times during the course of the first 3 months on my mission. The Lord answered my doubts each time through the hands of others and increased my faith in His perfect knowledge of me, my heart, my righteous desire, and my weaknesses. Each time I began to doubt my faith, He would remind me to doubt my doubt, and to my faith.

Little did I know how blessed I would be because of the service as a missionary I was allowed to give to my Father in Heaven, Savior, and my brothers and sisters. I knew that, personally, those experiences would continue to bless me throughout  my life. However, I never imagined that the Lord would continue to allow me to witness His hand in the lives of those He allowed to to witness His teachings in their lives.

On February 7, 2014, 14 years and 5 days, after entering the MTC, I received a phone call. I was out with the family and some friends enjoying an evening of playing games and pizza. My phone rang, and the caller ID showed, "Cameron Hiler."  I answered, and could barely hear the person on the other line. However, I could tell it was Cameron, and I understood the words, "Sister Burr, I want to share something with you." He continued, "Elder Cameron Hiler,  You are hereby called to serve as a missionary of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. You are assigned to labor in the Texas mission.” I was ecstatic.

First Hair Cut

Took Kaiya to get her haircut today. It was badly needed. As Kaiya had her hair washed, Kaelani kept saying "me too. Me mom, me!"

Kaiya had 7 inches cut off her hair. I almost cried ... She seemed to be nervous happy. It's a cute length on her and she seems to like it. She had a braid and green glitter added.
Cute hairdo for cute girl and amazing sissy!

When Kaiya was being finished up, another stylist was available, and Kaelani climbed right into her chair. She was so excited and proud. She beamed for her entire haircut.
miss Gizzy pulls the most animated faces ever!! She did not disappoint while getting her haircut.
No haircut is complete without a little fairy dust!
The adorable hairdo for an adorable girl!
She wanted a braid like sissy and chose pink sparkles with a cute purple bow!

After their haircuts, they got to pick a prize. The prize machine have then each bubbles. Kaiya was a sweet big sister as always and gave Kaelani the pink and purple mermaid bubble. In exchange she got a black and red LADYBUG! A Bug for a sweet Bug!
Big sister trading - sweet little lives!

Lady Antebellum

We went to see Lady A last night! It was such a fun evening. It ranked right up there with Zac Brown Band in October!

After the concert we went out for dinner and a great time with our friends! It is always fun to get together with others and laugh!!

         Kaelani's fren (friend) "batman"
Kaelani was eating her snack of popcorn, peanuts, and m&ms by mom. She kept leaning over to the towel/chair next to us. I sat up to see what she was up to, and discovered she was picking out the m&ms and sorting them by color. All in her own! Smart little cookie Lulu!

Breakfast ... Good thing we are leaving or  mama, Kaiya, and Kaelani would be sleeping in crumbs. Love this little Lulu girl!

Fun with Friends!!

Hung out with these three goofy kids today. Playing hand on top, and laughing hysterically!!!

Fighting to Survive - Ashley's Journey (Part 1)

Hawaiian

The first Saturday in March we spent it with some of our favorite people. First, we went to Peoria for Lights Out Baseball! After the game, we went to the Aloha Festival and ate lots of yummy food, made crafts, watched hula dancer, and jammed to reggae music.
