We headed up to Flagstaff for a few days! It was so much fun!! We got to visit with lots of friends! In addition we did a little hiking, a little photography, and enjoyed the fall colors!! It was a blast!!!
We had dinner at Chipotle with Kiris, Christianne, and Dave! Miss sweet Gizzy snuggled Kirsi and took a nap after family pictures! Sweet girl!!

After dinner, we couldn't help but stop by "The Sweet Shop and Nut House." Kaiya loved it and was so excited. She had never been, but had been in the car once with the Lumley while the mama's ran and grabbed some expensive chocolate and fudge . . . and some not so expensive candy canes for the kiddos.
 |
| Look at all that nummy chocolate!! |
Kaelani had a really hard time choosing between a marshmellow with a worm on it or a marshmellow with sprinkles . . . she chose sprinkles and was happy!! How could you go wrong with that combination!!!

At the candy store Kaelani was a complete crack up!! She would go to the door, stand for a minute, and then run and and say, "its cold! its cold" Except is sounded like "issss col issss col." She would prance around for a minute and then run back to the door, stand and then turn around prancing and saying, "it's cold" LoL! Finally, a funny lady caught missy off guard!! She hid just beyond the candy apples in the window and popped out when gizzy went to the door! It caught her by surprise and she ran away giggling!! Love her!!
We love to build forts at our house! THis is the first trip Kaelani's seat was back far enough for her to put her feet up. We pulled over for a rest and low and behold . . . there was Kaelani with a fort. She had her feet up holding the blanket and it tucked over her head!! LOL!!

The next day, after lunch with my friend Dave and family, we went to the Arizona Snowbowl. We hiked around some of the beautiful area. Then, we drove up and got tickets for the ski lift! The girls loved the ride to the top! However, the ride back down made all of us a little uneasy!! We had a beautiful view!! You could see clear to the Grand Canyon! I could have stay up there for ever!! I loved it!! Took so many pictures trying to catch what it was I was seeing an feeling!!

We were greeted by the little friend standing in the middle of the road!! Being us, we were so excited we pulled over and watched for a while!!
Kaiya had a really really hard time smiling and not pulling a silly face this trip. Kaelani, the loving sister she is, copied Kaiya! Pretty soon I couldn't get a picture with anyone smiling!! Goofy girls!! Just make me laugh!!!
 |
| She didn't know I was taking her picture and got a decent one!! |
Kaiya was asking about why the rocks were different colors. We talked about the mountain being a volcano and being formed by molten rock. Then, I told her depending on the minerals in the lava at the time that would determine the color of the rock now. She was looking to find the minerals . . . LOL!!

A good view of the layering of the lava and the mineral coloring of the rock.
